I would have been so sad.
Regardless of whether one is Jasper fan or not . . . that's just super heavy--about as heavy as it gets, honestly--and after a season of so much darkness . . .
Plus, it would have been such a tragic ending for a character who has been around since the beginning of the show. Now they have an opportunity to tell a different story, of a young man who overcomes his struggles (hopefully) rather than succumbing to them.
