Episodes like 2.02 and 2.07 are what the show does best. It sort of disappointed me that towards the end, they steered away from this.
I sometimes think the actors have a better grasp of what their shows does well and should be doing, than the writers/producers at times. Josh mentioned recently that he thought the show does it best in the quiet, smaller moments. Season 1 had a lot of that tone and some of season 2 as well.
