They absolutely did not do a credible job of presenting Kenneth, which is part of why I'm reserving judgement. From what he did say, it seems he wanted to connect with Sly - he just wasn't successful at it, and perhaps he went about it in all the wrong ways. But that doesn't mean he didn't try. Obviously, something occurred that caused Sly to be so averse to seeing him, but it's possible that was not entirely Kenneth's doing. We just don't know all the factors that contributed.

I didn't particularly like the character - but a lot of that has more to do with how he was presented. I would actually like to have him come on again - but in a way that explores the character and Sly's family background better.
