[Money Power Glory] A MYOC Role Play Game

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.
Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.
Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind.
Gordon Gekko - Wall Street

Where there was once a time when monarchs and priests ruled the land, the dollar bill now rules in their place. Driven by unbridled, unadulterated greed, we are a nation of consumerists driven by our desire to have more, always more, than what we already have. We have grown all too content to drive the tip of our Jimmy Choo stiletto heel into the backs of those who bore the weight of our ambitions and helped us to rise. And rise we have, higher than we ever have before. That it is often at the expense of others is something we choose to look away from. Whether you buy into the idea of the top one percent owning ninety percent of the nation's wealth as myth or fact, there is no denying that the disparity between the wealthy and the poor has never been greater.

It is estimated at present that the top 200 families in the United States are worth approximately 1.3 trillion dollars combined. Wealth is transitory though, subject to a fickle economic system and the fallibility of man. Those who find themselves on top one generation find the entirety of their fortunes squandered two generations later. Yet there are those that have persevered in spite of the odds.

It is said that money doesn't buy happiness, but there are those that would argue that it can buy just about anything else including any number of diversions to convince us otherwise should the opposite prove true. They mark their worth by the things they own; designer clothing, expensive cars and that second house in the Hampton's all serving as status symbols for their unquenchable and outrageously opulent wealth. More relevantly, money buys influence and it is no coincidence that some of the nation's wealthiest families have attached their names to the highest elected political offices or otherwise have managed to fold those political offices tightly into their back pockets. They are the nation's royalty, not through some divine right assumed from God as the monarchs of past, their collective power instead claimed by right of monetary conquest. Not coincidentally, they are also the nation's most powerful. Greed being their most sacred of virtues, they are never fully satisfied with what they have, going so far as to covet that which belongs to their equals.

I want money, and all your power and all your glory
Hallelujah, I'm going to take them for all that they've got

THE GENERAL GIST OF THE GAME
This game will center around (but not be exclusive to) five very wealthy and powerful American families who are in constent competition with one another for dominance. You could almost think of it as a sort of modern day Game of Thrones in that any number of legitimate and scrupilous means will be employed to ensure these families stay on top; hostile company takeovers, political intrigue, embezallmet, the occasional marriage of convenience devised to both ally and strengthen two families, etc. All five families will be familiar with one another to varying degrees for the sake of convenience. You are not required to play family members (though it is highly encouraged), however for the sake of convenience and relevance to the plot, it helps to create characters still affiliated to one of the families in some form or another. This includes but is not limited to: cousins, family friends, lawyers representing the family, people employed by them, etc.

THE DELONGPRE FAMILY OUT OF GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT
There has been no American political dynasty more successful than the Delongpre family out of Greenwich, Connecticut. Over the last seventy years they have managed to produce, five senators, two governors and one President of the United States with another one currently running for the Republican nomination in 2016. Much of their wealth derives from various business ventures but the bulk of it comes from their involvement in the petroleum industry. Following the discovery of the Spindletop oil field, the Delongpres were amongst the first pioneers to start drilling in the Gulf Coast commercially and were swimming in black gold by the 1920s. After merging with two other large Texan oil companies, their brand became the first to be sold in all fifty states. Today their company is the sixth most profitable oil company in the world. Having entered into politics with such an extensive business background, they conveniently champion fiscally conservative legislation and advocate for limited government involvement in big business. A marriage between the Delongpre and Donahue family thirty years ago helped both to increase their wealth and strengthen their stronghold in Washington D.C.

Name: Adrienne Delongpre
Age: Thirty-One
Family most closely affiliated with: Delongpre
Three Fast Facts:
- Adrienne Delongpre had been the picture of poise, respectability and intelligence right out the gate, a model for which her younger siblings could emulate and a source of pride for both her parents. Amiable, charismatic and above all things, dutiful, Adrienne had never been the sort to rebel, happily swallowing the ideologies spoon-fed to her without any question. Even in the face of temptation when a high school teacher's mutual attraction for her had come to light, she proved vigilante in the end, putting a stop to the flirtation before it could escalate and cause scandal. She would later go on to attend Yale Law School on her own merit, much to the delight of both her mother and her grandmother who are both alumni with the University.
- It was at Yale that Adrienne would meet her first husband. Though familiar with one another long before attending the same University from having traveled in the same social circles, Adrienne and Philip Sinclare did not start dating until her freshmen year of college. Following a short courtship of eight months, Phil proposed and with the encouragement of her parents, Adrienne accepted. On paper Phil had been the perfect match: intelligent, gently bred, charming and handsome. Young and impressionable as she was, that had been enough for her, even with rumors of infidelity brewing as early as the engagement. The honeymoon stage of their marriage lasted no more than a year before Adrienne could no longer delude herself to the truth. The end of their marriage proved ugly and the divorce uglier still. Without a prenup Adrienne forfeited half her assets to her husband. She might have been able to survive the humiliation with more grace were it not for the fact that she was also pregnant. Adrienne miscarried early in her third term two months after the divorce was finalized. That had been the straw that broke the Camel's back, shattering what remained of Adrienne's already fragile emotional state and sending her spiraling into a dark pit of depression.
- Two long years of therapy left Adrienne a changed person with very little of the benevolent and compassionate spirit she once possessed remaining to her when all was said and done in the end. In that girl's place is now a shrewd, ruthless and hardened woman, a rigid chunk of ice in place of where her heart used to be. When Adrienne returned to law school she switched her concentration from corporate to family law and woe be the man unfortunate enough to find himself sitting opposite of her during a divorce settlement. Thrice married and thrice divorced now, Adrienne has recouped the losses from her first marriage tenfold, leaving a small trail of broken hearted and bankrupted men in her wake. The only quality remaining of the Adrienne of old is her unwavering loyalty toward her family who serves as one of their most staunch of champions as well as the primary legal representative for the Delongpres as well as her mother's maternal family, the Donahues.

Name: Elizabeth (Liz) Delongpre
Age: Twenty-six
Family most closely affiliated with: The Delongpres
Three Fast Facts:
• She might share her given name with her grandmother, Elizabeth Donahue, who embodies everything her mother and father hoped she would become but that is where any similarities between Elizabeth the elder and the younger begin and end. Liz grew up feeling like an outsider in her own family, as though she was not quite as intelligent, beautiful, or good-natured as any of her siblings, and never found "her" place as a Delongpre. She fell into the wrong crowd early on in life and grew to become the source of much consternation for both the Delongpres and Donahues as her antics only grew more outrageous and out of control in her teenage years.
• Playing true to the party girl stereotype, her promiscuity and heavy drinking & drug use was an open secret in her family. It was not long before she was responsible for splashing the Delongpre name across trashy tabloid after trashy tabloid and the target of much gossip and speculation. She had just turned twenty when her life abruptly changed; it was just before dawn in Greenwich when Liz loaded her Mercedes-Benz with her flavor of the week, a handle of Jack, a bottle or two of Oxycontin, and took off in search of a party in New York. Due in large part to their high level of intoxication, both she and her passenger survived when she lost control of her car and crashed into another on the opposite side of the road that did not fare as well. It would be the last time her father would orchestrate a hasty cover up on her behalf and it was also then that he laid down the law; either straighten up or be cast out.
• Liz spent six months in a rehabilitation center in some far-flung destination before spending the next four years at Dartmouth College, hardly her father's first choice for one of his daughters, obtaining a bachelor's degree in government. The next time the public saw Liz Delongpre, the transformation was striking; she had just begun law school at Yale University and could not have been more changed from her wild child ways. She now has a close relationship with her family, plays an integral part in her father's latest political campaign, and seems to have been born to play the part of dutiful daughter and future lawyer. Even still, that does not mean that from time to time a skeleton or two hasn't fallen out of her closet and been quickly swept back under the rug.

Name: Ford Delongpre
Age: 24
Family most closely affiliated with: Delongpre
Three Fast Facts:
- Growing up in a family of most women is hard enough. Add to that the pressure of being the only male heir in a political dynasty and you might begin to understand the difficulties of Ford’s life. Yale Law School wasn’t a choice for Ford like it was for Adrienne. It was his only option. Law school and then he would work on his father’s campaign until he was old enough to begin his own political career.
- It came to quite a shock to Ford’s father when he was found in flagrante with a male member of his high school’s teaching staff. With threats to the man’s career, he was let off the hook as long as he signed a nondisclosure agreement. Ford, on the other hand, was sent off to boarding school and intense conversion therapy and two very long years later, he enrolled in Yale Law School.
- The therapy didn’t work, but Ford missed his family, even his father, who he thinks was only doing what he thought was best for him. With family comes sacrifice, and Ford is willing to play the dutiful son. He’s a year away from graduating Law School and works closely with Liz on their father’s latest political campaign. He has had several fleeting romances with many beautiful women, but thankfully, his father’s pressures to start a family have not began, but he knows it’s only a matter of time.

Name: Cadence Delongpre
Age: Twenty-two
Family most closely affiliated with: The Delongpres
Three Fast Facts:
• Cadence means “with rhythm." If anyone embodies and inspires rhythm within the Delongpre clan, it’s certainly she. Cadence is dependable and strong, a regular presence in her loved ones lives. She held Liz’s hand (without judgement) when she totaled a car and was the first to hug Adrienne tightly following her divorces. A peacemaker through and through, Cadence exists to restore order.
• Cadence is unable to ignore a person in need, unless it’s she who struggles. Her selfless nature is a gift and a curse. It’s not that she’s a doormat; rather, she doesn’t know who she is. Cadence finds it easier to invest in others than to explore what’s truly inside of her…for fear of disliking what she finds.
• A recent graduate of Yale University, Cadence has her whole life ahead of her. A degree in business and journalism could take her so many places. Yet Cadence chose to stay where she's at. She joined her father’s campaign and accepted a proposal from long time beau Prescott Sinclaire. He’s not right for her, but she loves him in spite of himself. Plus, the union means a lot to her parents and marriage, taking care of someone, that, Cadence knows how to do.

THE DONAHUE FAMILY OUT OF RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
Tracing their lineage back to a minor noble family of Gaelic descent in Ireland, the branch that immigrated to the United States in the late 18th century was noble in name only with little in the way of wealth to their name. By the mid 19th century they had carved out a small niche for themselves with the manufacturing and distribution of ammunitions and during the American Civil War they played both sides of the war, distributing to both Confederate and Union forces in secret. The marriage to a wealthy newspaper heiress at the turn of the 20th century added the power of the press to their arsenal and it is no coincidence that criticisms of this country's international munitions trade go largely unheard of in the media as much of the family's wealth derives from those exports. Today the family is spearheaded by an industrious matriarch who took over the day to day operations of the company following her husband's death fifteen years ago. Knowing the value of putting on a good face perhaps better than anyone else, the family champions a number of charitable causes and donates on the upwards of a million dollars every year to organizations that fund cancer research and rehabilitative services for military veterans.

Name: Elizabeth Donahue
Age: Seventy-One
Family most closely affiliated with: Donahue and Delongpre by way of her daughter's marriage
Three Fast Facts:
- Born Elizabeth Constance Duvall, Elizabeth came from an affluent family out of of Long Island, New York that proudly traces their lineage all the way back to the Mayflower. The Duvalls were bankers and businessmen, making shrewd investments on technological innovations emerging during the Industrial Revolution and pioneering the earliest forms of modern capitalism. It wasn't until the advent of Speculation and the creation of the Stock Market that they experienced their true boon with wealth however. As the daughter of a prominent and wealthy WASP family, her one and singular duty was to marry a man of equally impressive birth. She did so gladly in the summer of 1962 to a one, Charles Donahue.
- There is absolutely no question who wore the pants in the thirty-eight-years Charles and Elizabeth were married. Elizabeth is as much an overlord at home as she is in the office, micromanaging the lives of her children and her grandchildren in much the same way she might her subordinates. Domineering, intractable and uncompromising, Elizabeth Donahue knows best and damned be anyone who try and tell her otherwise. She holds her family to an impossible standard, her unwillingness to compromise prompting her youngest daughter to exile when she found herself pregnant at sixteen out of wedlock and determined to still carry the child to term. Jennifer Donahue left for California to become Jennifer Jordan and never looked back and Elizabeth, stubbornly and foolishly, let her. That her youngest daughter died before the two could ever reconcile has weighed heavier on her heart than she lets on to and she has spent the last decade or so trying to make right on that wrong.
- Elizabeth is trying to get all her ducks in a row before her final, inevitable curtain call, not by choice but out of necessity. She has survived seven economic recessions, two failed corporate acquisitions, the deaths of her husband and two of her four children and is just tenacious enough to outlive the remaining two and their progeny as well but for a malign tumor recently discovered on her left breast. There are few challenges in life she's met and found any difficulty in conquering, but cancer is a horse of an entirely different color. She has yet to take any of her family into her confidence.

Name: Lynette (Lenny, if you have a death wish) Donahue
Age: Twenty-six
Family most closely affiliated with: The Donahues
Three Fast Facts:
• The Prince and Me is a beloved chick flick about an ordinary girl becoming extraordinary. It champions the underdog, spouting feel-good mottos such as “you can achieve anything” and “we’re all equals.” Lynette has nothing in common with this film. In fact, she detests it. Status and title do mean something, and they are not for everyone. Certain families rise leagues above others, deservingly so. This is what her grandmother has taught her. These are the beliefs she holds to.
• Lynette wasn’t always a stick in the mud, a description given by her ‘charming’ cousin Sydney. In her youth, she climbed trees without caution and rode horses bareback. Then her sister got sick. The cancer was quick and merciless. It rendered Lynette the only girl in her family, and the responsibilities were endless. Her sister was no longer the prim and proper lady. The torch passed to Lynette. She grew up fast and well, a picture perfect representation of what all Donahues should be. On occasion, when the wind blows just so, Lynette misses the carefree girl she used to be. She honors this with a moment of silence and, then, she moves on.
• Lynette graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History. She is currently a curator and appraiser for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Her true passion is painting, but she has little time for it between her job and Elizabeth-given charity duties. Love is another subject Lynette finds herself unable to pencil in, despite her family’s best efforts.

Name: Julian Donahue
Age: Twenty-five
Family most closely affiliated with: Donahue
Three Fast Facts:
• Being born into the Donahue family comes with certain expectations, and Julian has fulfilled many and most of them for a majority of his life. Pre-adolescence, he was a dutiful, dignified little rich boy drone, mannerly and polite to his peers and betters while simultaneously snooty and superior to those he deemed ‘below him,’ similar in heart and spirit to his sister, Lynette. After suffering through and eventually besting puberty he had his requisite period of rebellion, sneaking out of the Richmond estate to ‘slum it’ at public school parties with his favorite cousin, Sydney (renting a Prius, rocking lower-level designer clothes, totally blending in with the dregs of society). He was always careful never to upset his parents or grandparents, always ensured he had a cover and back-up cover, and made it through those tumultuous teenaged years without so much as a nasty note in his permanent record. For a time he was his grandmother’s golden child, even skipped off to Columbia (in NYC, her hometown) after graduating from high school (and frolicking about Europe for two years) to enter into their auspicious business program just to please her.
• Business school didn’t last long, however. In New York, Julian was quickly seduced from the straitlaced student intent on making his family proud into the shameless artsy hipster, shedding the business suits for flannel shirts and facial hair and perpetual oil paint stains. He made it a single year, amassing enough basic business-related knowledge to fool his dear grandmother each time she phones to ask about how his degree is coming along—though she remains the only Donahue to date who seemingly doesn’t know about his complete change of heart and career path. Meanwhile, far enough away from his family and their legacy, Julian has enjoyed all sorts of personal freedoms once denied to him by a short leash and a necessary sense of paranoia. The only person whom he keeps around from his old life is Sydney, now his long-suffering roommate in a shared 2 bedroom flat—he could certainly afford better, like a fancy townhouse in Lenox Hill staffed with his own handful of servants, but that is so not how an artist should live. He slums it on purpose, ‘suffering’ in the name of his art, aside from a strict diet of Starbucks, a top of the line vespa scooter, and a nice little studio in SoHo.
• Presently, Julian attends the New York Academy of Art’s graduate program, specializing in modern art and mixed mediums. With his sister Lynette he shares a common interest in painting, though his artwork tends to skew into the lewd end of the spectrum—very rarely do his pieces not contain nudity or otherwise explicit content, unless they’re commissions or gifts and even then he might throw in a shrouded penis to meet his personal requirements. Said penis obsession is probably related to his sexuality, which he refuses to label unless pressed, and then he’s a proud bisexual. Sydney once set him up with a female dancer friend after he admitted to enjoying ‘the dancer aesthetic.’ It went disastrous. These days the setups are all male, and Julian certainly hasn’t complained the teensiest bit.

Name: Whitney Jordan
Age: Twenty-five
Family most closely affiliated with: Donahue by birth through her mother
Three Fast Facts:
• California, where the sun always shone and diversity ran rapid, provided a dream life for Whitney Jordan. Rather, her parents did. Charles and Jennifer’s ocean home was full of love and excitement. They taught their daughters the importance of hard work, simultaneously encouraging them to march to the beat of their own drums. Whitney never wanted it to end. But death is no respecter of persons. Orphaned at seventeen, Whitney found herself living with an unknown grandmother. Said grandmother was rich and judgmental. The Donahue matriarch’s stuffy demeanor was the antithesis of Jennifer Jordan. Pleasantries were faked; Eden acted out enough for the both of them, but inwardly Whitney raged. She left her room for meals and Sydney only.
• Eden and Sydney’s rivalry did little to calm Whitney’s nerves. Of all things, a moronic boy was at the center. Who was right (Sydney), who was wrong (Eden), none of it mattered. Honoring their parent’s legacy should’ve come first. When Syd cried in her arms, Whitney reminded her of this. She listed her talents, dance chief among them, and inspired change…a drastic change. The Tisch School of Arts called and Sydney answered. Her plan to steal away in the dead of night wasn't concocted by Whitney, but it certainly wasn't discouraged. The middle Jordan let out a laugh, the first since her parent’s accident, when Elizabeth discovered her pet project’s ‘betrayal.’
• Whitney remained in Richmond, Virginia through high school and the year after. She phoned Sydney often, to hear about college and remember their parents (Eden rejected the latter). The calls ignited a foreign feeling. Hope. Ignoring her anger, Whitney relocated to Maine. She needed space. Elizabeth didn’t understand but, nonetheless, attempted to fund the venture. Whitney refused to absolve her guilt over Jennifer. She rejected the handout, waitressing at a tourist diner instead. What happened at that diner can never be spoken of. Whitney returned to Richmond a year after ‘it’ happened for money. She attended the University of Virginia, at her grandmother’s request, to obtain a degree in English Literature. Post-graduation, Whitney accepted a job at Macmillan Publishers in Russia. Her communication with family soon became scarce. She phoned Sydney every other month and e-mailed her grandmother sporadically. Eden, she forwent all conversation with. When Elizabeth Donahue finally had enough, she saw to Whitney’s firing. Whitney is unaware of her involvement. Presently, she is back in Richmond searching for work.

Name: Sydney Jordan
Age: Twenty-Four
Family most closely affiliated with: Donahue by birth through her mother
Three Fast Facts:
- California born and bred, Sydney grew up far removed from the luxury and wealth the Donahue's are known for, comfortably slumming away in middle class suburbia not even aware of her maternal family's existence until a car accident claimed the lives of both her parents in one fell swoop. Enter Elizabeth Donahue, wealthy Virginian socialite and entrepreneur. Upon assuming guardianship of Sydney and her two sisters, the trio were uprooted from Southern California to Richmond, Virginia, turning the only life she had ever known for sixteen years completely on its head.
- Richmond proved to be a bit of a culture clash, Sydney having been raised to believe that all things of worth in life were earned by hard work and perseverance rather than just being handed over on a silver platter. Determined to make the transition as smooth as possible and quickly assimilate into her new surroundings, Sydney coped with the loss of her parents by acting as a mediator between her sisters and their estranged grandmother whenever tensions arose. Her eagerness to please others being misconstrued for pliability, it wasn't long before she involuntarily became Elizabeth's newest pet project. Not content to let her life be molded by the ambitions of other people, Sydney consented to being paraded about society like a prize debutante in exchange for pursuing her own ambitions undisturbed. School, ballet and her new social responsibilities would help distract her from being on the losing end of a love triangle involving her eldest sister and a friend of the Donahue family long enough to gain acceptance to the Tisch School of Arts in New York. Without warning she stole away into the night on the eve of her seventeenth birthday, gone from Richmond as suddenly and abruptly as when she first appeared on the scene ten months prior.
- Though hardly a penniless vagrant begging in the streets of New York City, despite what her 'lovely' cousin Lynette might say, Sydney does not benefit from the same level of monetary support she might have had she pursued a more practical career in business or law as her cousins have. For what it's worth though, she couldn't be happier with the path she chose to take, hard though it may have been at times. Sydney tenured with New York City ballet for two years and upon graduating from New York University, was recruited to the American Ballet Theater as a soloist and is currently on the fast track to becoming a Principle dancer within the company.

THE GALLAGHER FAMILY OUT OF NORTH HEMSTEAD, NEW YORK
No other family has ever risen quite so spectacularly from humbler means than the Gallagher family. Having hitched a ride on a boat out of Ireland during the Great Famine, the first of the Gallaghers carved out a small piece of land for themselves out in New Mexico as smalltime cattle farmers. Not content to toil away ingloriously in the dirt and the dung, it was second generationer Frank Gallagher that helped bring the Gallagher name to the public consciousness. It was in a modest Chicago law office he found work as a clerk, teaching himself to both read and write until he surpassed the man who first gave him his opportunity in both skill and ambition and took his position. Frank's determination felled every obstacle he faced and he eventually moved his family to a small suburb outside of New York City after outgrowing local Chicago politics. That much of the Gallagher fortune was inflated as a result of prohibition era opportunism is something history has conveniently forgotten. Frank Gallagher's legacy is that of being the grandfather of one of the nation's most prolific political dynasties in addition to being the namesake of the most profitable whiskey distillery in the United States.

- Wayward Melody (patriarch - Mark Pellegrino)

Name: Rory Gallagher
Age: 27
Family most closely affiliated with: Gallagher
Three Fast Facts:
- Rory has always been pretty levelheaded. In a family of Irish Catholics, there is very little room for level-headedness and this fact kept a small, but deeply felt distance between him and the rest of the Gallagher clan. With Rick, whom Rory looked up to immensely growing up, left home feeling that his way of running the family business would be better and with Matt and Mia, their collective drama left little room for Rory to waver or get noticed.
- At 16, Rory decided to embark on a bout of rebellion. Six months later, he had been arrested for assault, theft and was a few months away from becoming a father. If he was gonna do something, he was going to do it right. Rory immediately tried to make amends for the sake of his child, but the damage was done. When his son, Liam, was born, Rory was served papers stating that the mother of his child and her family were suing for full custody. Because of his felonies, it was granted and Rory’s ability to see his son was limited to a few holidays a year. Despite the setback, Rory kept his grades up and attended Brown University.
- In true middle child fashion, he defied his father’s legacy and after graduating with a business degree, decided to go into business for himself and opened himself up an Irish pub. He wanted something separate from his father and his money and a way to prove to the courts that he should be able to have joint custody of his son, who is now 10 years old.

Name: Matthew "Matt" Gallagher
Age: Twenty-Five
Family most closely affiliated with: Gallagher
Three Fast Facts:
- Matthew Gallagher had always been a parent's wet dream in his youth, at least as far as the public face he put on went. Coming from a long line of politicians, Matt could charm a smile out of the biggest stick-in-the-mud old crone or a pretty girl out of her clothes with the best of them. A master word-smith, Matt's silver tongue has gotten him out of many a sticky situation and it is perhaps this knavish knack for perpetually narrowly escaping discovery that drove him to constantly test the limits of his powers of persuasion. Like any other spoiled rich kid struggling to combat the boredom of a life lacking in consistent challenges, Matt was eager to fill the void with worthy stimuli. Rather than turn to drugs, alcohol and sex (though there was still certainly plenty of that) his preferred form of entertainment was manipulating the emotions of those around him. No relationship proved sacred, save for maybe the one that existed between he and his twin sister, Mia.
- Maybe it was the fact that his older brother was always stealing his toys as a kid that Rick had never been fully endeared himself to Matt. It was during those early swaddling years of trying to keep Mia's Barbie dolls out of Rick's hands that he developed a relentless protectiveness over her. In Matt she could always count on his unconditional support as he was always willing to drop everything at a moment's notice whenever one of her many misadventures landed her in trouble. In that one regard alone Matt could be utterly selfless, his concern for her wellbeing greatly outweighing that of his own. He could say that of no one else, not even the other members of his family.
- His blatant disregard for the wellbeing of others could be evidenced in the fact that he regularly got behind the wheel or rode in the passenger seat of someone else's Mercedes Benz whilst drunk and/or high. One can only cheat fate for so long before it finally catches up with you and for Matt that moment came when a completely blitzed Elizabeth Delongpre swerved her car into oncoming traffic with Matt riding shotgun. That had been the turning point in his life. Upon waking up in ICU two days later he was devastated to learn the passenger in the other car had been permanently crippled and disfigured. His father had been quick to sweep his involvement under the rug, judging him rather generously perhaps because it was the first time a major incident had involved him rather than his sister, yet Matt was not content to let the matter die there. For once in his life he was determined to take responsibility for his actions and to this day continues to pay for the medical expenses of the person who's life he is partly responsible for altering so significantly. He has since turned over a new leaf, completely disassociating himself from his old life and focusing on the political career his father had intended for him all along. Five years of sobriety and being a Stanford Grad student have made Matt completely and totally boring now according to his beloved twin sister, but he's still the only one who will post bail for her no questions asked so obviously he's still good for something.

Name: Mia Gallagher
Age: Twenty-five
Family most closely affiliated with: Gallagher
Three Fast Facts:
• Mia has always been the ‘eccentric’ child. Nannies and teachers and family friends would describe her as ‘colorful’ and ‘energetic,’ rambunctious since an early age and constantly looking for something to get into, figuratively (countless adventures) or literally (head stuck in a doggy door.) Nonetheless she was the apple of her father’s eye and she took full advantage, clinging to the coveted title of ‘daddy’s girl’ well past the age most would deem proper, the driving force behind most of her conscious efforts to ultimately ‘please daddy.’ At one point there were some rumors going around that the relationship between them seemed a little inappropriate, all on Mia’s end, but it was never anything worth prompting an investigation. As Mia matured and hit puberty, she grew out of her obsession with her father and promptly grew into an obsession with her own twin, Matt. Matt who was going through his own shit but always had time for her, Matt who never brushed off her attentions in favor of work or their mother, Matt who would leave a bangin’ house party or the steamy interior of his car and an annoyed girlfriend/ho on the side to rescue Mia from her own demons.
• After one too many youthful misadventures (stealing a motorcycle and driving it into a lake), Mia was quietly hospitalized in a psychiatric institute, her parents concerned for what they perceived to be escalating unhealthy behavior. A month later, and she was released back into their custody with the diagnosis of ‘bipolar I disorder’ and a few scripts for mood stabilizing medications. Under their roof, she was regularly medicated and monitored, and her personality shifted back into flavors of normal, muted and boring and average. The daughter of a wealthy family, her illness was immediately fodder for the media though lawyers were brought in and gag orders distributed and some not so subtle threats made until a few apologies were printed and otherwise stories of Mia Gallagher vanished from the tabloids completely. Her life would’ve gone on from there, another cookie cutter rich girl going to school, getting married, popping out a few children and wasting away her remaining days shopping and banging the pool boy but for the fact that Mia was (stupidly) permitted to attend school far from home, at Dartmouth.
• Dartmouth wasn’t so much a random choice as an excuse to follow after serial bad influences, Prescott Sinclaire and Angelo Moretti. Her brother having matured in ways that made him less fun to be around, Mia refocused her attentions once more to Prescott, who never disappointed in his passion for hedonistic pursuits. She toughed it out at university for two years, majoring in English, until the two boys graduated and her motivation for sticking with it abruptly fizzled out and not only did she lose her desire for a degree and not totally humiliating her family, but suddenly her medication didn’t seem so necessary. She flitted around the country for months after that, partying, getting high, having meaningless sex until eventually landing herself in jail for possession and Matt, beloved Matt had to bail her ass out. Back home she went, unwillingly, back on her meds and things were normal again for a while. She found a new purpose in modeling, got scouted by an agency and seemed to have a knack for runway and editorial work, until of course she reunited with her favorite twosome and things have begun to spiral out of control again, bit by bit.

THE MORETTI FAMILY OUT OF ESSEX FALLS, NEW JERSEY
Few people are able to boast ancestral ties to a Papal dynasty and a grand duchy in Italy, yet the Moretti family out of New Jersey is one of the last and closest of relations to the House of Medici through their female line. The Medici rise to power began in the late 14th century with the creation of the Medici Bank, which saw them eventually become the most influential family in Florence. That influence would go on to help elevate four different Medici popes in Rome and wed two of their daughters to French Kings. The American branch saw its rise to prominence during the prohibition era where several of their hotels on the Atlantic City boardwalk had converted their back rooms into gambling dens that served alcohol. They would go on to become one of the wealthiest and most ruthless crime families in the New England states, engaging in a number of criminal activities including racketeering, bookmaking, loan sharking and drug trafficking to help maintain their dominance. Today the family owns and manages several large Casinos on the boardwalk and is boldly prolific, flaunting their success brazenly with little regard for the underhanded methods employed to maintain it.

Name: Antonio Moretti
Age: 34
Family most closely affiliated with: Moretti
Three Fast Facts:
• Charismatic, manipulative, devout, and deeply flawed Antonio kept with the family business and became a priest. Despite his alignment to the teachings of the church Antonio twists and selectively picks what pieces of the word pertain to him and what just pertains to others. Antonio is great with the gift of gab and also appears inherently trustworthy which has helped in the collection of secrets which often come to him within confines of the confessional. If he ‘sells’ those secrets to his family and occasionally other families of power, it’s all under the guise of the greater good though it’s explicitly forbidden under Catholic doctrine.
• At eighteen, during one of his cousins baseball games Antonio jumped down from the stands and in a fit of emotional rage beat a man into a coma with a bat. Little is known as to why he did so and his family did their damnedest to cover up the incident and later the death when the victim succumbed to his injuries. The hefty paycheck involved in clearing his name is still a point of contention amongst the members of the Mortetti family.
• Predisposed to addictions due to certain personality traits, frequently this manifests as substance abuse with particular leanings towards cocaine and drink (why hello there sacramental wine!) but he’s been known to rack up quite a poker debt at many of his families casinos.

Name: Daniela "Dani" Moretti
Age: 30
Family most closely affiliated with: Moretii Daughter
Three Fast Facts: - Daniela grew up playing with the neighborhood boys. She had female friends too but she had no interest in playing barbies and house wih them when playing guns in the mud was so much more fun. Her younger sister was the only one that got to see her girly side. Hanging around with boys all the time eventually caused her to get into trouble now and then but nothing ever stuck because of who her family was.
- Though she wanted to involved in the family business when she got older, she had no interest in Casinos. Her love of fixing cars made her decide to open up an auto repair shop. Of course, it isn't all as it appears. Grease Monkey runs as it should during the day, though with added shipments of drugs coming in, but at night the backroom is used for illegal gambling. Daniela, of course, has no problem with any of it. Actually it was all her idea.
- Dating wasn't something Daniela did much, due to usually being 'one of the guys'. She never really minded and went on happily single until one of her body guards changed her mind. She used to hate Rick Gallagher with a passion but somewhere along the lines as they spent more time together, that changed and she fell in love. Their wedding wasn't a big one. She didn't want the fuss. Small and simple was perfect for her. She really thinks he's the one. Little does she know ...

Name: Angelo Moretti
Age: Twenty-Eight
Family most closely affiliated with: Moretti
Three Fast Facts:
• None of the current generation Moretti boys wears the unfortunate moniker of ‘shark in a suit’ with pride quite like Angelo. Though third born he’s always been something of a model child, a figure his parents could gesture grandly to in the midst of lectures with his other siblings about how best to behave. He was always smiling, always flawlessly put together, always quick to duck his head at perceived wrong doings and apologize with such humility his mistakes would seem so trivial in the end regardless of their impact. He skated by easily through the years despite a love of childhood mischief, never punished seriously without it being rescinded later and a brand new video game or sports car shoved his way as a consolation prize. One memorable year in high school, a classmate beat Angelo to a pulp after observing him hitting shamelessly on his then girlfriend, and the next night the boy awoke to a severed horse head tucked casually next to him in bed. Angelo’s responsibility was heavily rumored, but nothing was ever proven. When accused, Angelo simply smiled one of his trademark smiles—mostly teeth—and replied that it was ‘too on the nose for his tastes.’
• Unlike most children of the wealthy, Angelo’s parents didn’t need to purchase his ivy league education. Angelo was accepted to Dartmouth on his own merit, exceedingly clever with mathematics and desirous of a degree in mechanical engineering. Business management was a natural tack on though Angelo had little interest in pursing that route, caring not about running his family’s casinos some day but rather ‘building a better mousetrap.’ After he graduated he was given a position first as part of a team handling security and monitoring for theft and eventually he was promoted to overseeing it, though he spent most of his time developing think tanks about increasingly elaborate ways to cheat casinos out of their money. To prevent it from ever happening to any of his family’s enterprises, of course. He wouldn’t deny a certain temptation to test run any of them on the competitors out in Vegas, however.
• When it comes to his personal life, Angelo would prefer to pretend he doesn’t have one. He is, however, ‘faithfully’ married to an older woman whom he’s never actually loved, the match having been his father’s idea to link the Morettis to a more legitimate line of credit. Angelo treats her more like a sister, fucks her every month or so to keep her quiet, and tolerates her continued efforts to ‘get closer to him, as husband and wife’ with thinly-veiled irritation. He cheats on her without hesitation though not very often, his eye isn’t as wandering as that of his best and closest friend, Prescott Sinclaire, but on occasion someone catches his attention and his wedding ring comes off as easily as any other bit of jewelry.

Name: Lucrezia Moretti
Age: Twenty-Four
Family most closely affiliated with: Moretti (Youngest, heir apparent by way of default)
Three Fast Facts:
[-] The only thing that Lucrezia Cesarina Donata Salvatrice Moretti is guilty of in the eyes of her father is being too perfect. Unsurprisingly, the Moretti patriarch and his strong but doting wife cherished all their children, though their daughters would always fall under the category of "princesses" and "can do no wrong" as is typical of their Italian ancestry. Lucrezia grew up surrounded in a membrane of privilege and decadence that her father's exploits readily provided and never wanted for anything. Someone might assume this turned her into a bonafide brat and they wouldn't be wrong; she just knew plenty about when to turn it on and off and what situation warranted which aspect of her brilliant personality. Her older siblings, Daniela and Angelo, served as the perfect protective shield that everyone undesirable tended to bounce off of if they knew what was good for them, though secretly she harbored a strength and determination that decided to burst onto the scene after she graduated high school.
[-] Always an observant child, Lucrezia made it her personal life goal to model herself after her father's professional acumen and understand the ins and outs of what he did on the business end, questionable legality notwithstanding. She was more than willing to take the full-ride education offered free of charge (to her) from her father as long as she chose the school. Verdict: Harvard at the age of seventeen. Outcome after six years: a combination Bachelor's in Economics and Anthropology, and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Coming back home to Essex Falls soon after did more for her parents happiness than most things had in recent history, besides her older brother Angelo's general existence, with her father immensely glad to have a child ready to learn the ropes of his trade. Of course she would never be allowed in on the nitty gritty, but the head of the family had no qualms with his pride and joy being the legitimate public face for his interesting line of work.
[-] Lucrezia was still very much a babe in the woods, so to speak, as far as the corporate jungle is concerned. No favored child of Don Moretti would ever be left without a safety net and who better to look after said favored child than the Don's personal advisor and Consigliere, Alex Levitsky (she calls him Alexei on purpose). The lawyer prodigy had more than earned his stripes as an adopted member of the Moretti family, as loyal and well-trusted as they came without resorting to being the muscle in the Don's operations, though Luca had always identified him as "the giant hot one" and never minced words about it. Of course she knew he had been assigned to her, not having chosen to pamper and chase after the same Bambi-eyed girl who stuck gum in his hair as a three-year-old. Of course she planned to take advantage of the fact that he had to do every single thing she told him to at every turn on pain of death. Of course she only teased him mercilessly because it made the time between board meetings and Casino monitoring and fancy event attendance go faster and not at all because he is so good-looking it makes her angry enough to punt a kitten into a landfill. Totally normal reactions and feelings all around.

Name: Rick Gallagher Moretti
Age: Thirty
Family most closely affiliated with: The Morettis
Three Fast Facts:
• Rick isn’t a complicated man. He wants what he wants when he wants it. As a child, it was usually his sibling’s toys. His covetous nature proved fairly innocent throughout high school and university. Minus the occasional ‘borrowing’ of his friend’s snacks and test answers, Rick was a good man. Life avoided going south until gambling came into play. What started as fun became an obsession. Rick was ’earning’ his own keep, for once, and with it came all he desired – women, power, etc. When his father confronted him, Rick pled the fifth. Comparisons to Frank Gallagher’s shady past did not detour him. Rick’s lifestyle soon led him to a crossroads. His father wanted their family to maintain success honorably. An ultimatum was presented, and Rick chose poorly.
• After disassociating himself from the Gallaghers, Rick traveled the globe. He inevitably encountered trouble counting cards in Bora Bora. His return to the states was a lackluster one at best. His father’s words rang true. Rick was no longer welcome in New York. Relocating to New Jersey, he looked up a former acquaintance/rival…Daniela Moretti. Rick used the connection to gain an audience with her father. After much cajoling, a job was granted.
• Rick pushed papers and (literally) cleaned up after the Moretti patriarch for three years. His patience paid off. Trust was earned and a bodyguard position offered. Guarding Daniela turned into flirting with Daniela, which led to ‘love’ and marriage (yes, he took her name). Rick was exactly where he wanted to be. In actuality, he’s never been loyal to the Morettis. He entered their fold to destroy them. In Rick’s twisted mind, he believes taking them for all they’re worth will convince his father he’s a respectable ally. He’s simply that deluded.

THE SINCLAIRE FAMILY OUT OF CLARKSVILLE, MARYLAND
The Sinclaire family operates the most dominating sports entertainment company in the world. With a professional wrestling dynasty that runs three generations deep, two Sinclaire brothers began as boxing promoters at several athletic clubs in the New England area at the turn of the 20th century. When boxing began to lose steam with public interest, the two brothers turned their attention to a burgeoning wrestling industry and pulled together all their money to form their own wrestling promotion. The current male patriarch of the family was sixteen when he would become involved with his father's company, his shrewd aptitude from business helping to evolve the company from a smalltime New England territorial promotion to a national phenomenon that would broadcast two different televised shows every week on two separate cable networks. Having effectively bought out his competition, National Wrestling Federation has nearly monopolized the sports entertainment industry and counts additional revenues from product licensing, film and music. Day to day operations, talent management and scouting is exclusively run by family members.

Name: Phillip (Phil) Sinclaire
Age: Thirty-three
Family most closely affiliated with: The Sinclaires
Three Fast Facts:
• Presently, people whisper and gasp where Prescott Sinclaire is concerned, but it was Phillip who originated the tricks of the bad boy trade. He single handedly coined the term ‘rebel without a cause (James Dean, be damned),’ making his brother’s current misdeeds look like child’s play. The Sinclaire heir was rolling joints and sneaking into strip clubs at thirteen. He idolized his father’s ‘fighters’ and mimicked their lifestyles tenfold. Drugs and booze kept him warm at night, but women were Phil’s true kryptonite. He‘d screwed half his high school by graduation, resulting in STD and abortion rumors. Phil was clean as a whistle, but his father paid four women to end their pregnancies. Remorse was never felt. Phil’s capacity for compassion died with his childhood dog, Rocky. After possession landed him behind bars not once, not twice, but three times, Phil’s father cracked the whip. He demanded more from his successor. With his record ‘magically’ cleared and his grades ‘unexplainably’ altered, Phil became a student at Yale University.
• Phillip’s freshman and sophomore year at Yale were much of the same. He smoked pot, screwed grad assistants, and paid moronic freshmen to complete assignments for him as ‘one time favors.’ As a junior, life finally got interesting. Phil was inducted into the Skull and Bones society. Gone were the days of being the only jackass of his kind. Phil found a brotherhood as power hungry and selfish as he. His membership supplied a coveted internship in broadcast journalism. It was during said internship Phil officially crossed paths with Adrienne Delongpre. They favored the same coffee shop for ‘working.’ Though their social circles had intersected before, Phil was occupied with other interests. He remembered her only as the cute redhead from charity events. The years had turned cute into sexy, and he had to have her. Phil suspended all other conquests to win Adrienne’s heart. Their whirlwind courtship of eight months was solidified by marriage. Phil surprised himself with his initial fidelity. Adrienne was hilarious and smart, not to mention the best lay he ever had, and he was comfortable. But a man can only ignore siren’s songs for so long. Nonstop temptation, coupled with Prescott mocking his ‘ball and chain’ predicament, inevitably opened Pandora ’s Box.
• Phil broke his vows after a year of marriage. Repeatedly. His revolting actions never negated his love for Adrienne, twisted as it was, so when he saw her with him after three years together…all hell broke loose. Phil was a do as I say, not as I do man. No one two-timed him! Humiliated and angry, Phil blindsided Adrienne with divorce papers. He never revealed what he saw. Instead, he cut off all communication sans lawyers. Phil only learned of his wife’s pregnancy after she discarded his last name. Her miscarriage ignited the first pangs of guilt in Phil’s life, despite doubts over paternity. He masked the shame with booze and women until the pressure mounted toward explosion. Phil chose to run away from his sins by joining the military. He was thrust into the Iraq War, completing his first tour 2006-2008. His second tour, 2009-2011, had Phil labeled a war hero. He saved half his unit from a terrorist attack. Unfortunately, Phil only remembers the men lost. His shrapnel scars remind him every day, along with their screams. By the time Phil came home on honorable discharge in 2013, he was changed. Gone was the selfish boy of his youth. In its place was a haunted man looking for restitution. It was not found with Adrienne. Phil has not given up on righting his wrongs, but recognizes the importance of space. In the meantime, he has begun work for the family business. His degree in media has him filming fight segments, issuing press releases, and everything in between. Phil does his best to honor the Sinclaire name but the battle for control is constant. Currently, he quells his demons with Frank Gallagher moonshine.

Name: Prescott Sinclaire
Age: Twenty-Eight
Family most closely affiliated with: Sinclaire
Three Fast Facts:
- Prescott Sinclaire, son of larger than life wrestling promoter, Donovan Sinclaire, spent much of his formative years in the locker rooms of grand sports venues, bumping elbows with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. He was raised in a literal fantasy world, where a soap opera was staged and dramatized two nights out of the week for a live televised audience. And of course he loved it. Prescott lived in a perpetual, never-ending fantasy land, accompanying the Ric Flair's of the industry on drug and booze sojourns regularly by the age of fourteen. Concepts of "consequence" and "responsibility" were utterly foreign abstractions to him and he grew up accordingly -- as a selfish, spoiled little rich boy born with a silver-spoon in his mouth and little to no regard for the people around him.
- As a member of the Sinclaire family he was expected to become an active participant in the management of the family business and did so first as a talent scout and developer and later by becoming directly involved in the creative writing aspect of their programing. He even enjoyed moderate success as a semi-professional wrestler himself, appearing on screen as an only slightly exaggerated version of himself as part of a storyline pitting father and son against one another for control of the company. It had been at the biggest Pay Per View event of the year, 18,000 seats booked at Madison Square Garden and broadcasting live in 16 different countries, that Prescott showed up high as a fucking kite and barely able to keep himself standing on two feet. He had been slated to face some baby-face John Cena equivalent, his inebriation somehow managing to get past management, and turned up to the ring with pupils dilated and swaying precariously like a leaf on a tree before collapsing into a seizure and overdosing on live, family friendly television.
- And so ended Prescott's brief whirlwind career in professional wrestling. After suffering through an intense drug rehabilitation program, Prescott was promptly shipped off to college bought and payed for by his father. Somewhere in between the many Jell-O shots, lines of coke (so much for rehab) and an unfortunate drinking and biking incident involving Keggy the Keg Prescott still managed to graduate with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Dartmouth College. He is currently working on his MBA and is supposedly engaged to one of the Delongpre daughters (unfortunately for her) after finally, finally being told to shape the fuck up or risk being disinherited.

Being the youngest of the Sinclaire brood growing up was exceptional. Especially given that she was the only girl. She was doted on by her father and her two older brothers and given their family's wealth, she never went without. She could get away with anything...that was until she became a teenager. Sneaking out to go to parties or meet boys was difficult when you had not one, but three testosterone-fueled men in your life, but in truth, Piper wouldn't have it any other way.
With her brothers' lure to the darker sides of life, Piper was the golden child. Because her apt for scholastic studies and her desire to please her father and be treated equally among her brothers, Piper graduated high school at sixteen with a 4.6 GPA and enrolled at Dartmouth. Piper has dreams of taking over the company some day, even though Phillip is set to succeed. Played By: David Tennant
Name: Aldis Nemick
Age: 41
Family most closely affiliated with: Sinclaire
Three Fast Facts:
• Aldis always held an interest in the sciences, which led him to be something of a part time chemist, part time physicist and all around lab nerd. Graduated Suma Cum Laude from Syracuse University and transferred to the NYPD as a forensic criminologist straight out of college. Fairly successful in his work, Aldis worked many cases but after having been assigned a series of kidnapping cases and murders which still remain unsolved, he found himself saddled under the weight of what he considered his underperformance and quit.
• Still wanting to be of use he moved to Clarksville to train and later join the police force, leaving his past behind him. He enjoyed the catch and prosecute nature of day to day police work and found that petty thievery and domestic disturbance weighed less heavy on this mind when he went home.
• Has advanced staged polycystic kidney disease and has been relegated to desk duty much to his eternal chagrin. The cost and time of dialysis treatments and a languishing on the kidney transplant propelled Aldis to making a deal with the devil, offering information to the Sinclaire family about criminal factors, where to score performance enhancing drugs, where to catch the affluent in bad positions for later blackmail for a little bit of extra grease on his palm and the possibility of black market organ donation ever hanging in the balance.

Name: Alexei "Alex" Levitsky II
Age: Twenty-Nine
Family most closely affiliated with: Moretti
Three Fast Facts:
- The Levitsky family name is not a name you will hear outside of Atlantic City and even then it is not exactly a name generally spoken in polite circles. Alexei Levitsky Sr. had been a known associate of the Moretti patriarch, one of his most trusted lieutenants who generally took care of the seedier handling's of the family business: collecting on loans, organizing underground prostitution rings, breaking a few knee caps, bleaching the blood and brain tissue out of bathtubs, that sort of thing. And he did so without complaint, one of few men in a business that does not generally lend itself to much trust, not blindsided by his own ambitions. He was a loyal Moretti man right to the bitter end when he stepped in front of a bullet that had been meant for the Capofamiglia himself.
- Driven by the guilt of having lost one of the few close and loyal friends he had, the Moretti patriarch determined that Alexei's young wife and three-year-old son would want for nothing. Alex grew up knowing very little of his strange benefactor's criminal background as he had been content to provide from the shadows, sending a check to them every month in the mail. It was Alex who was determined to know the generous stranger that had put he and his mother up in a comfortable house outside of the city and paid for his education. That was when Alex started becoming more involved with the Moretti's, turning up at the occasional birthday party or charity event, spending the occasional summer at their country home. By the time he finally learned of the full extent of the family business he felt indebted to them for all that had been done for him growing up, but not so much that he was willing to put his mother through the same heartache she had suffered in the wake of losing her husband. His interest in law could still be of a benefit to his benefactor without compromising Alex's desire to aid the Morettis through legitimate means. He would end up attending Princeton and gently nudged in the direction of corporate law.
- As Consigliere of the Moretti family, Alex advises on most of their legal matters and serves as a mediator between the family head and respectable persons who might not want to be seen doing direct dealings with one of New Jersey's biggest crime families. "Consigliere" may as well also just be Italian for Lucrezia Moretti's personal pin cushion and bitch. As the respectable "face" of the family, it has fallen to Alex to look after the youngest Moretti daughter and keep her out of trouble. This includes but is not limited to accompanying her on business luncheons, prepping her for meetings, cleaning up after her stupid dog anytime it shits on the floor, serving as her personal unwilling Ken doll to harass as she pleases and occasionally as arm candy whenever she requires a reputable date for distinguished a function. Alex suffers it all through a clenched jaw and reluctant smile, his dental bill having gone up exponentially over the years due to all the stress related grinding he does to his teeth.

Name: Christian Jenkins
Age: Twenty-eight
Family most closely affiliated with: The Donahues
Three Fast Facts:
• While his name is one none would endeavor to remember, his mother's maiden name is one that still earns a measure of respect in certain circles. The Fitzgeralds of Richmond, Virginia were hardly as wealthy as their contemporaries, the Donahues, but a long-standing friendship between the wives of the family patriarchs ensured the two were often heard in conjunction with one another. Richard and Margaret Fitzgerald had only one daughter, Elsie, whom they hoped would carry on the family business but chose a career in journalism instead and left her comfortable life as a society darling for a mundane, middle class existence in Southern California with her husband and two young children, son Christian and daughter Rachel.
• Around the time her marriage began to show signs of strain, Elsie Fitzgerald Jenkins was blindsided by the sudden illnesses and deaths of both of her parents in the span of one year. She and her son, Christian, returned to Richmond after the divorce was finalized to take over her father's business and occupy their grand Southern estate. The first to welcome back Richmond's long lost daughter was Elizabeth Donahue, who immediately took an interest in young, impressionable Christian and took him under her wing in the absence of a son or grandson of whom to impart her vast knowledge and wisdom of how to thrive and survive in the business world, to say nothing of how to win at societal power plays. He was the perfect pupil -- still young enough to be malleable but old enough to use his skills to make his mark on high society and forge a better path for himself at her insistence.
• He graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics, minoring in finance, and later obtained an MBA from New York University. Christian was primed for a successful life in business, but for whatever glory was expected of him by his mother or his influential benefactor Elizabeth Donahue, he managed to both confuse and disappoint in one fell swoop when he waved off offers with some of the largest, most successful companies in the United States to accept a position as a lowly accountant for the American Ballet Theatre. His decision to accept the job may or may not have been made in part by the close presence of one rapidly rising ballerina who may or may not also be one of Elizabeth Donahue's granddaughters.

Name: Jonathon Finch
Age: Twenty-Five
Family most closely affiliated with: Delongpre
Three Fast Facts:
[-] Son of the Delongpre's longtime campaign manager, Jonathon Finch was born front and center on the political landscape. Nicholas and Rebecca Finch always did their best to ensure their son had as normal an upbringing as life in the public eye associated with one of America's most powerful families would allow, keeping him well-balanced with a private education at the renowned Cheshire Academy and appropriate extracurriculars (see: Lacrosse and Polo). He also got used to the normal barrage of functions and rallies and galas and all the many colorful events in the government kaleidoscope from an early age.
[-] Jonathon could very well have taken the money offered from his parents but his goal had always been to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University on his own merits, and knowing how determined Jonathon is, he did just that while maintaining a starter position on the Bulldogs Lacrosse team from Freshman Year on. Naturally, being a good-natured soul with a heart somehow bigger than he already was, he always found time to pop in on younger sister Daveigh, now just starting high school and a prime target for the horde of boys eager to see the business end of Jon's loaded shotgun.
[-] Still chipping away at his Master's in Global Affairs, Jonathon accepted a job working on the campaign trail with his father -- not that he would admit it, but ultimately this was done so he could keep a close eye on even closer friend Cadence, the youngest Delongpre daughter whom he had gotten to know that much better during his last year at Yale. More or less growing up together had already solidified their bond with each other, despite the slight age difference. He liked to think that he had adopted an older brother role in her life but conveniently ignored that you don't normally harbor secret feelings for a younger sister type. He would thank Daveigh not to tease him so often about that fact. Besides, he could totally pull off the friends-of-the-opposite-sex thing and still made a point of checking in on said friends, namely the recently re-included Sydney Jordan since she was always good chummy fun and their social paths tended to cross for mutually beneficial reasons. No not like that. At least not anymore.
