I know that it is not the same thing exactly, but Avery can give Will some of the finer points of starting over from a career stand point. When he split with that b***h of a manager then he was blackballed and could not get a gig. He had to take a job as Juliette's roadie which turned out great for him considering his little girl.

Avery was well on his way to establishing himself again when he made the self-less choice of taking care of his daughter which makes me like him even more. He can tell Will that life will go on and he will find a way to be happy again.

For Avery it was humbling which for Will it does not need to be, but it did teach him that being a star didn't define him. He found there were far more important things in his life. He can help Will see the future without being so dependent on the fame and screaming fans. Avery could be a good teacher for Will.
