I don't like them for the reason Stephen King was initially wary of people adapting his novels into movies: when we read a book we have an internal voice and build characters on how we think they look and sound. When someone reads for you or makes a movie, it immediately beartraps those characters into those people playing them and changes the book forever. I'm like that with audio books. I understand how it's convenient both for getting through books while doing things (chores, driving, etc..) but I'm a fan of cracking a book and turning a page. As technological as I am, I despise Kindles, too haha.
