I get chills seeing Amy even having the courage there to kiss him on the forehead.
It's a tough scene because I can't work out if it's out of character or just the result of Ephram being messed up over everything. But again even Ephram admits he had no business treating Amy like crap during this time period so I think to him he's saying he took it out on her and shouldn't have versus ever meaning it.
