Ernie Anderson recording promos at ABC's post production 6 on their Prospect Studios lot in Hollywood, the same lot where I started working a decade later. Ernie was my mentor, but I think that I made him nervous during this shoot. Ernie was definitely a one-of-a-kind VO talent and was the father of Paul Thomas Anderson.
I hung out w/Ernie starting in '89, and he told me about his one big acting job in Hollywood, appearing in a GUNSMOKE episode in the mid 60's (he said that he hated his performance). I've never been able to find the episode, but you can hear an improvised interview. that Ernie recorded w/the cast at the following youtube clip.
