Not in the middle of nowhere, but once when I was 15, I was in a summer camp in Spain. This camp wasn't really supervised by adults...At the end of the camp, me and my friends had spend all our money. I was going back home but when I arrived to take my boat from Mallorca to the coast, I had to wait for nearly 24 hours because of some problem (I don't remember exactly why), but why I remember is spending the whole night waiting at the station, sleeping on a sleeping bag, and no food...and then to wait again the next day until the afternoon.
