Something worth considering is the fact that Christie Laing got cast in a new tv show called "Un-Real" and was busy filming 8 episodes of that during large parts of 4A. She suddenly became unavailable for OUAT, which explains why Adam and Eddy decided to quite literally put the Marian character on ice. Now, I have no idea what they may have had planned or not and I also haven't quite wrapped my head around today's shooting situation yet, but it's quite likely that Adam and Eddy originally didn't intend for 4A to play out exactly the way it did for Marian and they were caught somewhat off-guard by Christie's new job situation.
