It has always amazed me how so many people are not familiar with the Rape of Nanking, but I'm a history teacher. When it comes to math or science, I'm just as ignorant.

As you stated, many of the same atrocities that took place in the concentration camps during the Jewish Holocaust also took place in China. While there really is no way of knowing the exact numbers, reportedly 300,000 lives were brutally ended, and 20,000 women and children (elderly and toddlers) were savagely raped and most were viciously murdered afterward. Over ten million Chinese were murdered in all during Japan's occupation of China.

While Nazi leaders were punished for their crimes, not many of Japan's leaders were (if any? I can't remember.). There are revisionists who believe the horrific genocide never took place (as there are for the Jewish Holocaust). In the late 90s, Japan's leader expressed "deep remorse", but Japan has never formally apologized.

I assume the book referred to is "The Rape of Nanking" by Iris Chang...???
