Sirius cracked a grin in her direction, pleased that she couldn’t ignore him. Rather than respond, she looked away pointedly. Thankfully, Lily called out to her, and Marlene rushed to catch up with her friend. As she walked off, she finally let herself smile, knowing he’d never know she’d actually smiled because of him.
