| Senator Chuck Hagel, a Republican from Nebraska, is now saying that the US may have to look at reinstating the draft. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...raft&printer=1
Congressman Rangel was interested in the draft from a more philosophical standpoint but Senator Hagel seems to share that thought as well. The very real need of the need for more soldiers on thr ground is also playing into this.
I'm still undecided because I know that there is no way a draft will be fair to all even with the best intentions. Also I read somewhere that it would take a year for the needed number of soldiers to be ready to be sent to an area with conflict. Unless the military can increase it's recruitment then we may be faced with dealing with the draft again. __________________ "Finally, A guy who says what people who aren't thinking are thinking" - Jon Stewart on CNN & ABC host Glenn Beck |
