That's a great way of putting it. It is not true love like I said in my post above. Absolutely, Peyton desires the idea instead of the reality with Jake.
Like I said, I think it's clear in season 1 Lucas/Peyton are the real deal. So much so, they both have run from it. Notice Peyton never runs from Jake. She's not scared because it's not true love, it's not the real thing, it's a fantasy only.
