Nov. 19, 2014 National Book Awards - In accepting an award for distinguished contribution to American letters, Le Guin delivered an impassioned defense of science fiction — and of writers in general.
"I rejoice in accepting [this prize] for, and sharing it with, all the writers who were excluded from literature for so long: my fellow authors of fantasy and science fiction," Le Guin said.

I'd like to thank everyone who has posted on this board
from the beginning for helping us achieve this milestone.
The threads and the discussion brought me to the board, but what's made me stay is you guys,
and the community we've created here.
I've also been lucky enough to moderate this board with two of the loveliest people on FF,
so thanks to Nad and Lutesse for making this such a smooth journey for me.

I am very pleased and excited to be the new Co-Mod, with Dan, of this venerable Forum!
I look forward to getting acquainted with the SF/F Fans and Threads
that have kept the board going for more than 10 years, as well as

Ever since I can remember I have in one way or another been a fan of the Sci-fi genre and surprise surprise I ended up joining FanForum because of it. So of course I naturally found myself on this board.
Now I can safely say it's one of the boards that definitely feel like home here. Every single poster whether they've posted once or countless times are welcomed with open arms - even if we don't agree all the time!
Books. Movies. TV Shows. We have a wide variety to choose from. And even if you can't find the thread you're looking for we accept the challenge of creating a new one and having a lot to say about.
