Actually I think that's part of what made it so realistic. Kids get ignored in favor of their parents' arguments or siblings' bad behavior/accomplishments all the time. Actually I liked both the twins reactions. They've clearly been through meals like this a lot over the years. They've probably always felt like they play second fiddle to whatever drama Miles is involved with that day.

Totally. And this is a family dynamic I don't think we've seen on the show before? I think that when we have had some sibling rivalry or one feeling overshadowed it is because they have to live up to their older sibling because they are an achiever. Now the pressure is different but the emotional reaction is similar. I wonder what Mom and Dad's reaction is going to be when the twins start having their teenage angst moments too.
