It could be linked to the fact Caroline was staring at their pics of graduation too in the first scene too

I was definitely happy about that because I saw people doubting that Elena is feeling bad about Bonnie's death. She does miss and feel sad about Bonnie, she probably misses her everyday but the thing is, is that she's dealing with the loss of Bonnie in a better way than she dealt with the loss of Damon.

Yeah, I agree, I liked the hint of Elena missing Bonnie very much but trying to deal with it silently
She must be very sad for this, as she told Jeremy, and she hasn't moved on yet
