off screen -- that's pretty darn convenient. But yet Elena gets how many episodes to mourn and cry over Damon on screen? And if Stefan had died, we would've seen Caroline crying over him on screen, too. Bonnie was their best friend since they were kids. Damon is a guy Elena has known for what? 3 years?
