The honors will be presented at a ceremony Oct. 30 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel hosted by comic and actor Rob Brydon. BBC America will air the show on Nov. 2. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles board of directors chooses the recipients.
Downey, who stars with Robert Duvall in "The Judge" opening Oct. 10, is this year's recipient of the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. Prior winners include Warren Beatty and Tom Hanks.
