I actually hope they are at odds for awhile, and Annie actually works at getting Auggie's trust back. It doesn't help matters that their relationship seems to be more one-sided, particularly on Annie's part.
I don't think the back 6 will be much better either. a) it sounds like McQuaid/Annie will still be a thing, and b) it sounds like Auggie is getting another love interest. (Which more or less may be equivalent to another Parker) if isn't like the love interests he had this season.
