It would have been interesting if he didn't know who the Darlings were or what had happened to Wendy. He would just know these two guys were after his wife and son.
Maybe Neal would realize they couldn't follow them to Storybrooke. It might be good if Emma had switched to an alias. Then, Mr. Gold wouldn't hear her name and (ignoring his behavior when he helps Regina adopt Henry and seems to know way more than he should) wouldn't get his memory back till someone let it slip, maybe when Henry's ten years old.
Although, I'm assuming Emma doesn't notice no one is aging for ten years. . . . Guess they'd have to get started on curse breaking early?
