I was wondering the same thing while I was watching the show for the first time. I have no idea why I kept thinking the little boy was Bash. They also kept exchanging glances and it felt like they knew each other better than MF.
IDK.. it was weird to me when I first watched it and now I am confused about my interpretations of the pilot.
I suppose I'll have to watch it again. I was understand the impression that Mary knew Bash.
