I personally want them to end up together but things might change as time/seasons go on. Or at the least have an open ending. I don't think them not ending up together makes it more real. Society would probably understand it more if they didn't end up together than if they did but again I don't think it makes it more real. At least based off what we have seen so far. So I wouldn't praise them for it.
But again it all really depends on how things play out in future seasons.
