DP because well it's necessary

Ryan is among the actors who are considered for Weinstein Companies’ upcoming biopic on JD Salinger.

Quote:
The Weinstein Company said the biopic will focus on the author's life between his World War II service and the publication of "The Catcher in the Rye" in 1951 and will examine "the effects war can have on an artist."
Speculation was rife in the US about who could play Salinger, with actors including Ryan Gosling suggested for the part.
The film will be written by Shane Salerno, whose documentary "Salinger" opened this month.
Salerno spent years researching the reclusive author for the documentary and a recently published 700-page book, co-authored with David Shields.
But the documentary recieved mixed reviews, with some critics saying it embodied the kind of prying the author detested.
