When you see all those fanfics, the authors keep saying that "come on, he has changed over the years". Well, I believe Rose hadn't. She didn't want to come back to a man she despised, no matter how much he might have changed. He became poor, he suicided. Rose became poor, and she survived and lived a fulfilling life. It can't be the same, can it?
