Another interview from here

Keeley Hawes has taken on a gritty new role for her latest TV series.

The Upstairs, Downstairs actress can be seen later this year in The Tunnel, a remake of Danish/Swedish crime series The Bridge for Sky Atlantic. But Keeley, 37, will be abandoning her previous authority roles to join the other side as a drug addict suspect in the case.

She said: "My story weaves through from beginning to end. I'm the sister of a suspect and I become involved. I'm a prescription drug addict, which is quite a departure from my usual roles."

In the other TV series which she is best known for, Keeley played an MI5 agent in Spooks and a time-travelling detective inspector in Ashes To Ashes. She has also appeared in period dramas including Upstairs, Downstairs, Tipping The Velvet, Our Mutual Friend and The Moonstone.

Keeley is yet to complete filming her part in The Tunnel as the production schedule has been put back because of the bad weather.

She said: "They got snowed in in Folkestone so that put things back a bit."

The Tunnel is set in Folkestone and Calais and follows a murder investigation when a body is found in the Channel Tunnel.

Original series The Bridge followed much the same format but the body there was found on the Oresund Bridge which connects Denmark and Sweden.

True Love. Eternal Love.
