To me not only did last nights episode reinforce captain swan but it also foreshadowed a death is coming and it's a death that will unravel rumple. To me that can only be two people, belle and bae. The blue fairy stated that bae is rumples last sense of humanity so if bae dies protecting Henry if rumple tries to kill him then that would complete the prophecy.
Because of rumples desire to kill the thing that could unravel him he becomes exactly what the seer predicted. He unravels himself and embraces the darkness with the death of bae.
I'm telling you guys this episode has set up rumple as the big bad of s3.
