Didn't she say in another interview that she had been listening/singing along with the CD because she knew about it back then and was going back and forth with her agent about auditioning for it? He didn't want her to at first. So I don't really think that it was a coincidence. I may be wrong though.
Always like that one of the books that meant a lot to her was "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" I first read that when I was in 7th grade and did a book report on it for my english class of which my teacher threw out without reading and made me read a different book to report on. I have read it several times since.
