In S1 Justin had a lot of persistance and even though Brian tried to prove a point that he's still single Justin hang in there despite the tricking. In S2 he obviously lost some of his confidence ESP after the bashing. As much as Justin knew that tricking didn't mean anything to Brian I guess it still bothered him because they were living together at the loft at that point and Brian was taking care of him but on the other hand kept that open relationship going...
