But wasn't Jefferson still trapped in Wonderland when it happened? And I think it was also confirmed that Jefferson was trapped in his house for 28 years before Emma arrived. He may have known about Belle's imprisonment, but I don't think he had anything to do with it.
...of course I could be wrong though.
