One thing I love about the Sam/Mercedes ship is that there is different sides of her tptb ignored before. She lusted after Sam for a quite a few episodes and I am convinced they had more than one kiss after the HN scenes/duet offscreen + she was really vunerable and closed off with her guard up around Sam also.
