| I will agree with you on the casting part. Who on earth at CBS thought that JLH could draw in the young-uns? I'm 21, and I had NO clue who she was until I heard about GW. How long has it been since she was even relevant, career wise? I mean, I'm not gonna blame her for the CBS big wigs decision, but seriously, JLH will probably bring in less young people than Bea Arthur. If they wanted someone to bring in the kids, then they should've gone with one of today's hip, young A-list TV actors. I don't have a clue who that would be, but...
It's a semi-interesting concept, but it doesn't have that dark spin like Medium does where she solves crimes. It's just JLH's boobs going around helping ghosts find closure. What annoys me is that it's pretty much the same basic concept that JoA was. Girl has some weird, supernatural connection to the universe that somehow gets her to go out and help people. It's the Poor Man's Joan of Arcadia.
I'm trying to decide how well it's going to do. NBC's "Three Wishes" is the only real competition, and it's also the same go out and help people premise as GW. But the thing about it? It's a reality show. So it's actually someone actually going out and actually doing things. That makes it slightly more appealing to people who might watch GW for that reason. |
