I love Sawyer and Claire's relationship. She seems to bring out the best in him. There are few people that he doesn't try to incite, and she's one of them. He seems to respect her, I guess, is what I'm trying to say. And regarding that, I don't think he actually read the journal. He pretended that he had just to rile Charlie up, but I don't think he had really read anything. (Of course he told Kate that it was just because he hadn't had the time yet, but I really think it's because he wouldn't do that to Claire.) I still don't understand exactly why he took it, though.
