I guess so. These are professional writers, though, so they could have easily written an N/E storyline/scenes in the finale without Mandy being in the equation for as much as she was.
I have no love for this character and I'm glad I never have to see her again.
And, oh god, there is no way she has any place in the specials. Like you said, I'm sure Emily cut off contact.
