I honestly thought they'd never go there. With this show, who knows? They probaby won't hesitate and we never really saw them together in S1. It was just Matt trying to get over Elena. They have been spending a lot of quality time together too.
I did enjoy their scenes last night. I love how close they are and they have a great friendship.
