I think the Seth/Ryan divide is as simple as a preference for comedy or drama or as you as said who one relates to more. For me, I'm not against drama but I saw so much of myself in Seth and then his humour, so he had to be my favourite of the two. But having said that sometimes people like characters just because it's the gut reaction. I think when you first like a character or a couple it's kind of a gut thing, that's how it's for me in most cases. After that you realise all the reasons why and it becomes justified.

I think most articles of that kind - listing things - are written like that, it's just to make the opinion seem more confident. So I wouldn't take it to heart
