I liked this episode a lot.
So, Stefan's love for Elena made him able to fight against compulsion. But he did decide to turn the switch off, but IMO we have seen, that there really is no real switch. Rose and Damon have somewhat proved that. I loved the whole exchange between Elena and Stefan. Even when they are apart, the writers are able to write their love epic.
I also liked Elena this episode, might be unpopular opinion. I just don' see why she is getting all the hate. IMO it is a good thing, that whatever she does, there is no sugarcoating it, she carries her deeds with her.
Matt/Bonnie friendship has a good wibe to it.
