I must say, I'm loving the recent icenetwork.com coverage of the Detroit area skating clubs. It's almost like a cool kind of rivalry could develop between the Detroit Skating Club and Arctic Edge, insofar as ice dance goes (five of the top ten ranked ISU dance teams now train at the DSC or Arctic Edge). Top teams with amazing talent and the desire to push the sport forward, not to mention some of (if not, the) best coaches in the world, makes for a wonderful sense of anticipation regarding the coming season.

The rivalry between the top teams is going to be great to watch at Worlds and leading up to then. Depending on how they do throughout the season and on how much their federation pushes them, Ilinykh/Katsalapov might also get in the mix. Also, I have to say I don't really see Weaver/Poje as medal contenders, although I like them a lot. But we'll probably get a better idea once we see all the teams' new programs.
