Which Glee Cast Member Will Be the First to Win an Oscar?
No Glee cast members were invited to this year's Oscar ceremony, but that may soon change, as most of the show's young actors are just now beginning their film careers. Based on their skills and the film decisions they've made so far, we rank the show's cast on how likely they are to eventually win an Academy Award. Perhaps one day Gwyneth Paltrow won't be the only person on this show with an Oscar statue to polish!
10. MARK SALLING (PUCK)
Whose career we see him emulating: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (zero Oscars, but 16 wrestling titles, which we suppose is something)
Here's why: There's no denying that Mark Salling is easy on the eyes. We can definitely see him excelling in film, as he has the physique and charms to star in action films (think fellow buzz-cut wearers Bruce Willis and Jason Statham). But a serious actor? We think not. On the bright side, at least he doesn't have to worry about investing in a trophy case, right?
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 0.001% (Translation: Nothing's impossible, but... )
9. JAYMA MAYS (EMMA)
Whose career we see her emulating: Christina Applegate (no Oscars)
Here's why: We don't really get a serious acting vibe from Jayma, although she's incredibly adorable. And anyone who can still be respectable opposite Kevin James in Paul Blart: Mall Cop deserves at least a little credit, right?
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 6%
8. CHORD OVERSTREET (SAM)
Whose career we see him emulating: Channing Tatum (definitely no Oscars)
Here's why: He stars in the upcoming action movie A Warrior's Heart, opposite Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene. That's not exactly the cast list from, say, The Reader, but we all have to start somewhere.
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 11%
7. DIANNA AGRON (QUINN)
Whose career we see her emulating: Amanda Seyfried (no Oscars yet)
Here's why: Dianna's film career has experienced some hiccups of late. She had a small role in the critically dismissed Burlesque, and she also starred opposite her ex Alex Pettyfer in I Am Number Four — her biggest role to date. Sadly, I Am Number Four has a 31% approval rating on RottenTomatoes. We expect bigger things from her in the near future, especially as she starts choosing from a wider array of projects.
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 35%
6. MATTHEW MORRISON (MR. SCHUESTER)
Whose career we see him emulating: Hard to say thus far. Maybe a more energetic John Cusack? Or a less physical Robert Downey Jr.?
Here's why: Matthew Morrison is still a wild card, as he hasn't really committed to much film work yet. But he certainly as a Hugh Jackman-type quality, and we can see him going far.

5. CORY MONTEITH (FINN)
Whose career we see him emulating: Josh Duhamel (not exactly an Oscar mainstay)
Here's why: Cory has been going after light comedy so far, as evidenced by his upcoming summer flick Monte Cristo (co-starring Selena Gomez). Cory's likable, everyman vibe also worked for Tom Hanks, himself no stranger to the Oscar stage. It's not out of the question.
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 50%
4. AMBER RILEY (MERCEDES)
Whose career we see him emulating: Jennifer Hudson (one Oscar)
Here's why: A big voice and a sharp sense of humor are the same tools that rocketed Hudson to success. Of course, we haven't seen Amber in much yet, so it's a little early to judge.
Odds of Winning an Oscar: 65%
3. JANE LYNCH (SUE)
Whose career we see her emulating: She's got her own career already!
Here's why: Jane is the only cast member whose film career is already on fire. She mainly takes roles in lighthearted fare — like the upcoming sci-fi comedy Paul — but she's had a few very impressive performances, including a part in Julie and Julia that had Oscar potential. Her Emmy win in Glee should give her the opportunity to take on even meatier roles.

2. CHRIS COLFER (KURT)
Whose career we see him emulating: Kevin Spacey (two-time Oscar winner)
Here's why: Chris is taking the indie route for now, as the only project he's signed up for is Struck by Lightning, which he wrote. The Academy loves to honor smaller movies, and with Chris excelling at scenes fraught with emotion, he's definitely going to be Oscar bound.

1. LEA MICHELE (RACHEL)
Whose career we see her emulating: Barbra Streisand (two-time Oscar winner, 5 nominations)
Here's why: With acting chops and a singing voice that demand to be taken seriously, she may prove to be Glee's biggest breakout film star. She's currently filming a small role in the ensemble comedy New Year's Eve, opposite just about every major actor in Hollywood (including Oscar winners Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, and Hilary Swank), and rumors abound that she's being considered for a possible Funny Girl remake. Needless to say, Lea's potential is no joke.
