The problem is that if Dan were to kiss Blair first (especially if it was a more direct approach like Pacey did with Joey), I think it would just give all the haters a greater excuse and leave people thinking Dan is the ultimate douche bag for attempting to kiss his former girl-friend/step-sister's best friend.
At this point I'd prefer for it to be mutal.
