Exactly. There were a lot worse fathers in the world than Andy Brown. That doesn't excuse how he ignored his family or say that Ephram should have forgiven him right away, but I think in hindsight, like with Kyle's dad as you mentioned, time and Andy's efforts in Everwood, I think Ephram came to view Andy's behaviour raising Ephram in at least a somewhat better light.
