I had a source at the Acts of Love yesterday and so I want to share some bits from the event. Lots of PH cast was there, along with Lauren, Peter and Craig also Max, Sarah Ramos and Miles.
According to my source Lauren arrived alone 15mins after Peter, looking pretty. She was wearing Black dress and knee-high red platform boots! (Gosh I hope we´ll get some pics).
There was a silent auction before the performance. One of the items for bid was a VIP day on the set of Parenthood and a cast-signed script of I Hear You, I See You. When my source checked, the bidding was at $1,000.
The main program was about 2 hours long, in a theater with only about 100 seats.
And i will copy and paste the info about the perforamnces
Quote:
The program began with Jason receiving his award from Autism Speaks. He gave a speech that told so much about his perspective on the show.
Then the performers came out - all the people who have been on the list for the event. From P-hood: Lauren, Peter, Max, Craig T. Nelson, and Phil Abrams. The men (plus Max) sat in a row of chairs and all the women sat in a row in front of them. There was a row of microphones in front of them - performers took turns, individually and as groups, telling vignettes about parenthood . . . mostly from books or movies. Each performer had a binder with the dialogue for each "act".
Peter was first. He was so powerful and the story he told so moving you could hear a pin drop. He also did an act with Max (from The Lion King! He was Mufasa to Max's Simba) and an act with Connie.
Lauren was in about 5 acts and was brilliant. One in particular about a mom who is so frazzled she forgets to buy diapers and coffee had the audience cracking up.
In between every 5-6 acts John Doe sang songs acoustically. During the second one, Lauren turned around and asked Peter something. He indicated he couldn't hear her, but the three guy performers closer to her did hear because they all got out a tissue to give her , which she sniffled into. A couple minutes later Peter got out his own tissue and sniffled into it. The a/c was on full-blast in the building since it had been 97 F outside today.
Peter and Lauren are acting soul-mates. During the other acts, they both intently followed along with the script - much more than the other performers . . . very serious.
I almost gave up hope for a Lauren and Peter act - but then it happened! They did the scene from Home Alone where the parents are on the plane and realize they had forgotten Kevin at home. Lauren was so adorable because she kept saying "Kevin! Kevin!" all the way back to her seat and the audience laughed.
The show ended w/ John Doe playing his acoustic version of Forever Young .
After - Lauren totally made a beeline for Peter as they were leaving the stage. She put her hand on his back and said something to him. He turned around, smiled, and said "Ohhhh!". I assume she told him that she had asked him for a tissue lol.
I saw Lauren tousle Max's hair affectionately. And I saw Connie hug both Lauren and Peter.
There was a cupcake/coffee reception afterwards. Kraham stuck together lol. Once he was walking in front of her and she started tapping his shoulder to tell him something - so cute!
They were usually in a group of people and it seems like they kept getting pulled away to meet new people. But while one was waiting for the other they hung out with Sarah and Miles, which was sweet. At one point, Lauren had her arm around Miles' shoulders as she was talking to him.
Lauren had her hair down during the performance. Somehow afterwards she had all of a sudden scooped it in a ponytail.
Kraham totally left together.

Apparently there were no photographers - but the performance was professionally filmed.
Interesting bits – my souce overhead one woman saying that the"treasurer/treasure/pirate" conversation between Adam and Max actually came from something her daughter said and Jason asked if he could use it on the show.
