Renewal is based on the 18-49 age group numbers. A little comparison between both shows since they returned in March 2010:

Flash Forward: 1.9, 1.8, 1.5, 1.6, 1.4, 1.6 = 0.60

V: 2.8, 2.4, 2.2, 2.2 = 0.89

At this point, both shows would fall below the 90% mark that is needed for renewal on ABC and headed straight for cancellation. Maybe ABC is going to give 1 of the 2 shows a pity pick up like they did Eli Stone a couple of years ago but if they do, it would have to go to V.

Well if NBC can bring back Heroes for a 5th season with much worse ratings, ABC can bring back FF.
I can see why NBC would bring back Heroes for another 13 episode season. They have endless slots to fill in their schedule because of the huge flop that was Jay Leno in primetime and Heroes currently stands at 77 episodes. The number that is needed for syndication is around 85 episodes. They would get there with another 13 episode order. I admit I am not completely up to speed with Heroes' ratings, but if I remember correctly it's an extremely young skewing show and NBC is so deeply in the toilet that they renew everything that gets a demo rating of 2,0.
