As I was doing it, I really took the chance to think about 4.13 and 4.14 and the way Drue related to Anna. Though she was no Jen, I could easily see transposing Jen into the position Anna held with Drue because of his feelings. He liked Anna a lot but he kept her at arm's length because he really did not like the idea of letting her in too deeply or seeing any vulnerability in him. It was the same with Jen. Only, Jen had so much more of Drue than Anna ever could. And the eventually let his guard down a little with Anna and was sweet to her. Again, the same could have happened with Jen. It would have taken a lot more work, because Jen obviously wasn't just some girl Drue had sex with but I think that would have been the best part. The building stages of their relationship.
