Even though I’m a biased fan, you can’t tell me that Denver is going to be a better team next year. If so, you must be really banking on them landing some top-flight players via free agency. They might get some quality players, but not enough to supplant the total lack of depth and talent on the Nuggets’ roster. As it stands right now, they only have Melo and Nene. You can add Tskita, but he did nothing to impress this past season. Even if Miller, Arenas, Olowokandi, and/or Maggette come to town, it’s going to be very hard for them to compete in the West.

The Bulls have a lot more depth and talent as it stands right now. Plus, they are playing in a weaker conference where .500 ball is likely to earn you a playoff berth. The odds are in their favor to make it to the playoffs before Denver. Especially if they get their act together on the road.
