Dog city is probably one of my absolute favourites among retro animation shows. It had a nice blend of animation and puppetry, never seen before or after. The interaction between animator and his character, and the animator's interpretion of his neighbours into the cast of the animated series was amusing.

It is indeed hard to see why this series didn't get more recognition than it did. I have been wishing for a DVD boxset of this series, for a long time now, but it seems like Jim Henson Compay has no plans on a release of the series. Presumably, because of some legal issues concerning licensing of the series. It is still hard to imagine why it can be sold via Amazon's Video on Demand service though.

I have been trying to get in touch with people who are fortunante enough to live in the US and are able to purchase the episodes, but no luck so far. Would be wonderful to have a DVD boxset of this classic series
