I love the book so much and I think this movie is definitely the best adaptation of the book. I thought the casting was brilliant except for the grown up Amy. Winona was perfect as Jo and Christian Bale did an excellent job as Laurie. It still breaks my heart every time I watch it that Jo/Laurie don't get together, I think they were actually my first ship ever!
