This is the scene that made us realize how selfless Ephram's love was for Amy was....how her happiness was all that was important to him...even if he had to sacrifice his own happiness.
This was also the first time that it was really evident that Amy had feelings for Ephram. She would have gone off with him if he hadn't stopped her.
