It's just so breathtakingly tragic and so romantic at the same time because he's exactly right. If Edward had died of the Flu in 1918 (or whenever) like he was supposed to Bella would have ended up with Jacob and Sam probably would have ended up with Leah. No vamps=no wolves=no imprints. A girl can dream right?

Oh and this is another one of my favorites: "I probably won’t think she’s good enough for you. I wonder how jealous I’ll be." ---And then it turns out to be her own daughter that he ends up with.
