I love how you phrased all of this... you put to words that which I could not (not so concisely, anyway)... and all the while, until his official notice, I was still hoping he'd stay and hoping that he/TPTB could fight that media storm and make those critics retract those claws... but w/o that support from TPTB, there was no way. As you said, they had it out for him... and were not going to stop until George was gone

|  It's funny that you wrote this... I was thinking (yesterday) about if he does do Broadway next and if I had the chance to drive to NY to see him and what I would say to him if I met him...? I was trying to come up with a very solid greeting, so as to avoid stuttering (OK, yah... probably not avoidable )... and it's funny b/c that led me back to thinking about our prior conversations about that scar and not knowing where it came from and I had thought about asking him.... it seems to me, he would probably give a nervous laugh nodding down for a second and might possibly turn a few shades of red.. ?? I might be horrified at the idea of embarrassing him so! Anyway... just had to share that.... then I came to the thread to read and saw your comment... 
Oh, and I tried to post last night, but was unsuccessful... lost half a dictionary's worth! ha!

Marie-- those crazy terrible things you keep reading... they sound like their coming from crazy fans/anti-fans/people posting, not critics/media, right? If so, you may want to refrain from reading the posted comments on some sites, to save your sanity... in certain places I started just ignoring what may have been posted and just posting my own thoughts on George or TR w/o reading others comments, since my time is precious and those comments needlessly stress me out.
